The bell rang in September of 2008 and I'm the new kid in school. For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to the quiet beauty that comes from items lovingly handcrafted by two hands, big or small.
My dream, as a younger adult, was to have a shop of my own, a beautiful installation of vignettes and overflowing merchandise. However, reality has a way of pushing dreams aside, and I took the safer road. I found myself working in the field of Occupational Therapy, ironically, surrounded by a workshop that rehabilitates clients by encouraging them to heal through the use of their hands. I was surrounded by pottery wheels, copper tooling, beads, paper and wood to name a few. It is amazing to see just how transforming it is to engage an individual mentally and physically through the use of art. (My career in that field is far from over).
Four years ago, I gave birth to my first child and was lucky enough to be able to step away from my profession to raise him. I loved my new role, but sought to find a better balance in my life, financially and creatively. I found refuge on the Internet. Though far from perfect, it is still a powerful medium for collaboration. I was drawn to the many start-ups that offered ideas reflecting mine and I longed to share. There were tips on parenting and reviews on products, beautiful clothing and safer toys that gave parents sensible alternatives. I especially appreciated the sites that offered craft from artists and the idea of a shop re-emerged. So, I searched high and low to find quality handcrafted products that resonated with my own sense of style and in doing so, I've had the opportunity to meet extraordinary designers and craftspeople.
At h,i,j kids, our philosophy is simple. We offer a collection of clothing, toys and accessories that is stylish, well-crafted and beautifully made. Our goal is to feature designers whose work reflects simple, classic designs with modern details. I've also included a few vintage artwork pieces from my own personal collection that can be used in any living space. We hope you enjoy this collection!

We ship via the United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail (2-3 day service). Artwork has the option of being shipped Priority Mail or Parcel Post, (only for orders shipped within the continental United States). Please send us an email if you are interested in the Parcel Post shipping option.
We make every effort to process and ship your order within 2-3 days of receiving it. If you are in a hurry, expedited shipping (USPS Express mail) is available on most items at an additional charge. Please contact us for rates.

Refund, Returns Policies:
If you are not satisfied with any of our products,please contact us immediately at howdy@hijkids.com You may return the item for a prompt refund, credit or exchange, less shipping charges, within 14 days of purchase. All items must be returned unused, tags attached and in the original packaging. Sale items are a final sale and are not returnable.
We recommend that you send returns with delivery confirmation, as we cannot be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit. Shipping fees for returns are at the expense of the buyer.
